Balloon Rescue
Balloon Rescue is my friend Dillon Upton's first game. Because of that there are a lot of glitches and the gameplay is not that advanced. Despite all that, the game is still pretty addicting! In Balloon Rescue, you have to rescue ally soldiers while avoiding being destroyed by enemy tanks.
The game was created to emulate games created for CGA graphics cards. CGA was a graphics card available for IBM pcs of the 1980s. It was only capable of displaying 4 colors: cyan, magenta, black, and white.
There are two versions of this game: The DANDUSOFT version and the REC GAMES version. The DS (dandusoft) version is the version originally made by my friend. I helped him with it, but didn't do as big a part of making that version than I did in the RG (rec games) version. The differences between the versions are that the DS version is less advanced and the graphics aren't as good. The graphics in the RG version are slightly different, the title screen and instructions screens are totally different, theres an opening cutscene, and a lives system.

Balloon Rescue VGA
Balloon Rescue VGA is a sequel to the games above. This game was based off of the engine of the original game. The first game was a CGA game, this one is a VGA game (hence its name having VGA in it) VGA is a graphics card available for IBM pcs that had a higher color range.
Like the Balloon Rescue games before it, you must rescue your ally soldiers. But now, you must do it before the time runs out. If time runs out or your balloon is destroyed by a tank, you lose a life. There are rankings for how fast you finish the level. They give you a different amount of points, or a 1-up (only if you get the best ranking: general). This game uses pseudo 3d graphics I made with Microsoft Paint, and the cutscenes and the title screen use parallax scrolling to give the illusion of depth.
